Are you at your FaceBook like limit?

like_us_on_facebook_small

Yes there is a 5,000 like limit on Facebook. Being a giveaway and sweepstaker myself I have hit the limit a few times. I found an app that I wanted to share with my readers. The unlikeit app is very easy to use. I like using the feature where I can go to my oldest likes. When doing the oldest be ready for a blast from the past lol I am always amazed at what I found myself liking years ago. I know there is other apps out there but I wanted to share this as I like using it myself and can only refer my readers to something I use personally.

So have fun cleaning out your like with the unlikeit app!

  1. thanks for this info. i did not know they had a limit. but then again, i did not know twitter has a limit either. i just found out a few days ago that the number of 'following' is limited by how many 'followers' you have. bummer.
will this app let me see who i havent interacted with lately? since i need a lot of them for giveaway purposes i dont want to get rid of any of those.

  2. I'm going to have to try this out. I'm not at my limit, but do have a lot of "useless" likes from giveaways (useless meaning they're not particularly of interest to me or are targeted to a specific state that isn't mine, etc). After having just read an article on how FB is deeming personal pages as spam for liking giveaways, I'll have to give this a try. Thanks!

  3. I did not know that this existed and it will v be hlepful to weed out old "likes", etc.  Thanks for the info.

  4. I didn't even know there was a limit.  We all do that though…where we like all these places and pages and then ignore them.  This is a good reminder for all of us to clean out our "likes."

  5. Wow! I had no idea there was a like limit. Good to know, though, because there are so many pages to like that they can add up quickly. Thanks for the post!

  6. This so cool. I did not know about it. I have had to unlike pages because I had too many and it is so hard to go through the list. Thanks for this post.

  7. Did not work for me or my friend, who is an IT expert. We tried it on at least 3 computers, 2  facebook accounts, and on Explorer, Chrome, and Firefox. It just stays in "loading" mode. any suggestions?

    • I just checked out the link and it worked for me. I seen in the comments on the Unlikeit FB page that they have been down over the past few days.

  8. Been entering and winning LOTS of blog giveaways and sweeps over the last year or so and got to my FB limit first and than shortly after my twitter limit. These limits do not make much (if any) sense to me. I actually just a few days ago created my 2nd Twitter account just for giveaways! Could not believe it took me so long to think of it, I was pissed at myself for wasting so much time and neglecting so many giveaways just because I knew I was at my twittter limit! I have also reached my FB like limit but am holding out as long as possible on creating a new account on there. I really fail to understand the benefit that twitter and fb get from this like/follow limit crap.

  9. I don’t know why companies programmed in such a worthless thing as the like limit. Twitter kills me having to go through and clean it all the time. I am just hoping Pinterest doesn’t have a limit on how many you can follow.

  10. I can understand the like limit to a point so that their system doesn’t get overrun but I also think that it is ridiculous.

  11. I didn’t know there was an app. I’ve been manually going and unlinking things. Blogs I liked years ago that don’t even exist anymore or they exist but haven’t been updated in 6 months or more. Even business that are no longer, well, in business

  12. OK maybe I’m not smart enuf to use FB but I can’t find what to click on to download it/use it. I clicked on Use Now but there weren’t any hits. GRRR!

  13. I’ve used this app for a while now and it’s been super handy for me. One thing though is that all the scrolling was getting annoying so here’s a tip: type a combination of three letters in the app’s search, like ‘per’, ‘tea’, ‘gre’, etc. Then select how to sort them (oldest, newest, etc) This way you aren’t always scrolling through the same list of likes to get to the ones way down at the bottom.

  14. It’s been a long time since you have posted this, so I hope you see this. A month ago, Facebook banned me from liking for an entire month. Yes, I like a lot of pages because my hobby is entering contests. They did this without warning. One day I just couldn’t like anymore and a little box popped up stating they didn’t like the frequency of my likes, nor the “type” of likes. Now, Facebook is the one who allows all of these big companies to entice you to like their pages by having contests to enter, and you can’t even enter the contest without liking their page, but when you do, you can be banned for liking too many? Have you ever had this happen to you?

  15. YES and Pinterest will go after you as well for entering contest they say you pin to much with not having enough followers. I’m surprised no one has mentioned them as well. People hate that we have to remove the follows to stay below the 5,000 mark but you have to. Twitter does not like you to remove people once you follow them. They went after me too for not having enough people following me. None of them seem to like us doing this at all. There are limits on other things you are asked to follow doing contest as well. You will know when you hit the limit they will not let you follow anyone new.

Tell me what you think
