September’s Food & Drink Product Roundup 2016

I get products sent to me daily to try out. I unfortunately don’t have time to do a post for each item that I get to review. So I want to make sure these items get seen and learned about. The only other solution I could see to do is to do a Food & Drink Product Roundup on the products I like and want my readers to know about. I hope you enjoy these as much as I and my other reviewers did.

Banana Wave Milk When you compare a BANANA to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrates, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around. So maybe it’s time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, “a BANANA a day keeps the doctor away’.

Barbara's Puffins CerealIn 1971, when Barbara started our company, the Bay Area was buzzing with young people full of a desire to express their love for all people. The world was changing daily as they created their own paths and sought to turn others onto new directions. Barbara, then 17, found her calling in real food and opened a small natural bakery in Northern California. She had a simple plan-make wholesome food taste incredibly delicious. Inspired by good health, family, and the kitchen table as the cornerstones of the good life, she used whole grains and oats just as nature intended-keeping things simple and real. The bakery exceeded her wildest dreams and grew from a storefront start-up to a thriving wholesale business. Since those first loaves more than 40 years ago, our product offerings have grown to include cereals, snack bars, cookies, and cheese puffs. We carry on Barbara’s commitment to create simple, wholesome, and delicious products with the most honest ingredients.

Mom's Lemon CakesMy mom took the fresh lemons and made lemon cakes for the family. These tasted very sweet and good. My family devoured the lemon cakes.

Home ChefHome Chef was founded with a simple goal: to provide our customers with a delightful home cooking experience. Our founder, Pat Vihtelic, and his wife found it hard to make time to prepare home cooked dinners after work. Pat discovered that online grocery services only solved part of the problem — he still had to think about what was for dinner, and didn’t have time to comb the internet for recipes. More often than not, he was overwhelmed by the prospect of meal planning, and resorted to takeout.

My family loved the food and we loved how easy the step by step directions are. Making the meal didn’t take long and got us out of our boring routine. The flavors were amazing and there was plenty of food to make us full.

  1. I’m intrigued by several items in this roundup. The “no nut” peanut butter sounds perfect for anyone with nut allergies. I also would love to try Home Chef because that would be great when you really don’t feel like cooking.
