It all started with one oven, one mixer and a whole lot of love!

In 1998, I started experimenting with Sugar Free desserts that my mom could enjoy. See, she has diabetes and the choices at these times were limited. I set out on a mission to satisfy her sweet tooth. This was no easy task, as she is an exquisite baker and very tough critic.

I kept experimenting with sugar free recipes, baking cakes and muffins – even creating my own butter cream frosting… until one day, my Mom took a bite of my cake and declared it, “Simplesmente perfeito!” (’Just perfect’ in Portuguese). I knew I was on to something when I started to get requests from friends and family who did not even have diabetes…..  And The Butterfly Bakery was born.

choco loafI got to try the Mini Angel Food cake & Chocolate Chip loaf from the Butterfly Bakery. My family and I could not wait to try the yummy looking bake goods. We had the Angle food cake with ice cream and it tasted great. My family was very please with the cake. The next night after dinner my family & I shared the Chocolate chip loaf cake and we loved it. The two bake goods tasted so good that my family and I did not even miss the sugar. Matter of fact my husband did not believe me until I shoed him the packaging. Eating the product I got a bunch of SunRype products to try out. I have never seen nor have I tried Sunrype before this review. I was amazed at all the different products they had. The first SunRype product that caught my eye was the Just fruit & grains Summer Berries bar. You can see the berries and grain in the bar and the taste was great. I felt good eating the bar as I knew it was good for me. My son went for the fruit strips as he loves fruit roll ups. The fruit strips were a big hit with my son and I was very happy that he liked the strips as they are way better for him to eat than the fruit roll ups. The fruit strips were gone in a week. My husband took a different fruit bar a day to work with him in his lunch and said that they made a great mid morning snack. I love when I can open my eyes to a new product and one that is good for my family. So far SunRype is only sold in Walmart by me and I Have 3 by me so I can't wait to go get more as my son keeps asking for more of the fruit strips.

With this Pretzel breading with Parmesan flavor I made baked chicken spaghetti with whole grain noodles toped with mozzarella cheese. Dinner was great and my family loved the taste and flavor. There was a little dish left over and hubby took it to work the next day for lunch. My family and I are on a mission to make dinners together all week and only go out on the weekends as they are usually busy. Kay's breading tasted great and was a healthy option for my family and was very easy to use.

Dinner with Allens veggiesI made the best dinner for my husband using Allens canned vegetables. I made a ham casserole. I also made cheddar biscuits with sausage gravy since these are my husbands favorite to eat too. I couldn't believe how quick my family ate this meal up. I never thought making these two items would of been eaten together and tasted great. I can say this was a home run dinner as there were no left overs to be had. So simple to make and made my family happy.
Ham Casserole:
2 boxes of potatoes
2 cups chopped ham
1 can of black eye peas
1 can of corn
1 can of mixed veggies
1 cup shredded cheese
Bake as the box potatoes called for to get the potatoes cooked. I baked for 45mins.

Dei Fratelli Gluten Free Tomato SoupWith the weather getting cooler out it was good to have a warm bowl of tomato soup with a grilled cheese. Dei Fratelli Gluten Free Tomato Soup is very flavorful and great tasting. My family all loved eating the soup. There was a can left and I wanted to make a sweet dessert for my family so I made a few mini loaf size Tomato soup cakes. My family loved them and ate them up. The cakes didn't last more than a day. Every time I have had a Dei Fratelli product in my house it was used up right away. My family loves the brand and I love the quality.

Tomato Soup cakeTomato Soup Cake
Ingredients:

½ cup shortening

1 cup sugar (can substitute ¾ cup honey)

1 cup tomato soup, undiluted

1 tsp baking soda

2 cups flour

2 tsp baking powder

1 tsp cinnamon

½ tsp cloves

1 tsp nutmeg

1 cup raisins

1 cup chopped walnuts

Blend the shortening with sugar.  Stir baking soda into tomato soup and add to shortening/sugar mixture.  Sift dry ingredients and add the mixture.  Stir in raisins and walnuts.  Pour into greased and floured 13” by 9” cake pan and bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes.  Frost with a Cream Cheese Frosting. *I made mine in mini loaf pans & made my own frosting*

We cook our proper English chips by hand in small batches here on our farm in Herefordshire. And we always leave the jackets on. Well it’s only polite.

Chip Flavors:

Tyrrells chipsTyrrells chips has a flavor for everyone. I never heard of Tyrrells before I did this review and I am glad I found them. I like how the chips are crunchy and have a flavor not like any of the other chips I have been eating. My friend that was over asked if the could try the Veg chips and I said go for it. I watch to see if they got the oh yuck face because I didn't think the Veg chips would be any good but to my surprise my friend just kept eating chip after chip. I finally asked to try one my self and couldn't believe how good the chips tasted. Before I knew it we had finished the bag. Now my friend is buying the Veg chips thanks for me getting them to review. I was happy to find that I can buy Tyrrells at over five (5) stores by me. My favorite is the Lightly Sea Salted. The chips are crunchy and don't have an over powering salty flavor like other chips tend to have. My husband likes the Sweet Chili & Red Pepper chips as they have the right amount of kick. My son likes the Mature Cheddar & Chives. Like I said Tyrrells have a flavor to please everyone. When I go to a store that sells Tyrrells I will make sure to grab a bag or two before I leave the store as the chips are just that good.
